About Claire's Yoga Classes

My yoga classes are held in a warm, fun, and friendly way. I teach beginners yoga, vinyasa yoga, and senior yoga.

We learn how to create strength and mobility in an accessible and intelligent way. All classes have somatic yoga and qigong influences. Most classes are suitable for all ages and levels although certain classes are more specialised. Take away thinking about what a yoga pose looks like and be guided into movements that feel good for your own body.

Please see the timetable for more information.

Who are my Yoga classes for?

My yoga clients range from their 40s to seniors in their late 70s. I am in my 50s. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner, have never done yoga before and have the need to find more comfort in your body, or are a yoga teacher yourself, certain of these classes are for you.

Feel free to contact me about my yoga classes, private yoga tuition, vinyasa yoga, or senior yoga.

The benefits of Hatha Yoga classes

Yoga and movement creates mental and physical health and well-being.

My yoga classes are influenced by somatic Yoga.

Somatic yoga and movement is a mindful practice focusing on internal body awareness, promoting relaxation, flexibility, and better movement patterns by retraining the nervous system through gentle, conscious movements and sensations. All of my yoga classes help you to mobilise and strengthen your body and to find your way into yoga 'postures' with grace and ease.

Personal Yoga Tuition

My yoga students have told me they benefit greatly from bespoke personal yoga sessions. Everybody’s body is unique and ideally should be treated differently. In these personal sessions, there is a greater opportunity to adapt movements to suit your body particularly if there is a history of injury or health issues. £50 p/hr

I also provide yoga tuition for small groups of people. These group yoga sessions can take place at your workplace, your home, or a small studio/gym/fitness space of your choice. Contact me to discuss more details.

Claire McLellan - qualified Yoga teacher

Claire mclellan yoga classes in crowborough near eridge and tunbridge wells

I am a qualified yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance professionals teaching yoga regularly in the Crowborough area since 2014 and then became a senior yoga teacher in 2023. I have a passion for anatomy and have been studying consistently since 2014, my understanding of anatomy helps inform how I respond to different students within the same class or personal yoga tuition. My influences are from so many people and ways of moving, notably Gary Carter of Natural Bodies (who is also a mentor), Tias Little, Thomas Hanna, Qi Gong, Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga.

My teaching is very down to earth, encouraging a more profound connection of our physical body to our centre through movement. In turn, this creates a deeper awareness of oneself at other levels.

I co-founded Tranquility Yoga Studio in 2022 but now teach independently as Claire McLellan Yoga

Yoga and I have been together nearly my entire life, and I am eternally grateful for this journey.

Breathing for health

Breathing is not something we can do in the background, it can have a huge impact on our well-being when breathing consciously. Breathing techniques reduce stress, improve relaxation, increase physical health, and help to regulate emotions.

Physically: Heart function improves because of a richer supply of oxygen, and not just to the heart. The whole body receives a richer supply of oxygen. The movement of the diaphragm helps the heart to pump, this helps to reduce blood pressure.

Breathing well assists the digestion process and our organs, muscles, and skin repair more efficiently. Breath can also help us to improve our posture.

Mentally: We tap into a place of intuition and clarity of thought helping to alter our emotional state, lending to more of a sense of calm. Our mental awareness of our bodies improves and so does co-ordination and control of movement.
