My yoga clients range from their 40s to their late 70s and 80s, and I’m in my 50s myself. Whether you've been practicing for years, are brand new and just want to feel more comfortable in your body, or even if you're a yoga teacher, there's a class for you.
If you're curious about my classes, private sessions, vinyasa yoga, or senior yoga, just drop me a message.
Hatha yoga supports overall well-being with mindful movement, breathwork, and relaxation. It helps reduce stress, boost strength and flexibility, and deepen the connection between mind and body. With regular practice, you’ll find more balance, resilience, and a sense of inner calm in daily life.
My Hatha yoga classes in Crowborough are warm, friendly, and welcoming. I teach beginners yoga, vinyasa yoga, and senior yoga, focusing on building strength and mobility in a way that’s accessible and intelligent.
With influences from somatic yoga and qigong, my classes encourage you to move in a way that feels good for your body—without worrying about how a pose should look. Most classes are open to all levels, though some are more specialised.

Somatic yoga and movement is a mindful practice that enhances body awareness, promotes relaxation, and improves flexibility. Through gentle, conscious movements, it helps retrain the nervous system for better movement patterns and ease in the body.
All my yoga classes are designed to help you mobilise, strengthen, and move into yoga postures with grace and comfort, making the practice feel natural and enjoyable.
My yoga students have told me they benefit greatly from bespoke personal yoga sessions. Everybody’s body is unique and ideally should be treated differently. In these personal sessions, there is a greater opportunity to adapt movements to suit your body particularly if there is a history of injury or health issues. £50 p/hr
I also provide yoga tuition for small groups of people. These group yoga sessions can take place at your workplace, your home, or a small studio/gym/fitness space of your choice. Contact me to discuss more details.
I’m a qualified yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals and have been teaching regularly in the Crowborough area since 2014. In 2023, I became a Senior Yoga Teacher, as I have been deepening my experience and knowledge.
I have a real passion for anatomy and have been studying it consistently since 2014. Understanding how the body moves helps me adapt classes to different students, whether in group sessions or one-to-one tuition, making yoga more accessible and beneficial for everyone.
My influences come from many inspiring teachers and movement practices, including Gary Carter of Natural Bodies (who is also a mentor), Tias Little, Thomas Hanna, Qi Gong, Hatha Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga.
My teaching is down-to-earth and welcoming, encouraging a deeper connection to your body through movement. This helps to create more awareness, not just physically, but in other areas of life too.
I co-founded Tranquility Yoga Studio in 2022, but since 2023, I’ve been teaching independently as Claire McLellan Yoga.
Yoga and I have been together nearly my entire life, and I am eternally grateful for this journey.
Breathing is not something we can do in the background, it can have a huge impact on our well-being when breathing consciously. Breathing techniques reduce stress, improve relaxation, increase physical health, and help to regulate emotions.
Physically: Heart function improves because of a richer supply of oxygen, and not just to the heart. The whole body receives a richer supply of oxygen. The movement of the diaphragm helps the heart to pump, this helps to reduce blood pressure.
Breathing well assists the digestion process and our organs, muscles, and skin repair more efficiently. Breath can also help us to improve our posture.
Mentally: We tap into a place of intuition and clarity of thought helping to alter our emotional state, lending to more of a sense of calm. Our mental awareness of our bodies improves and so does co-ordination and control of movement.
